Opportunities for learning and development must grow as your students grow. While student capabilities and understandings expand, it is vital lessons address their particular stage of development. A sequential approach to your outdoor education programming provides progressive learning, responsive experiences and creates clear pathways for student growth and success.

PREPARE YOUR STUDENTS FOR LIFE BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

While our wide range of programs operate effectively as standalone experiences; they truly come into their own when implemented as part of a sequential program.

According to the Australian Curriculum, in order to maximise the effectiveness of any outdoor learning delivered in schools, learning should be sequential.

Sequenced programming introduces your students to varying and age-appropriate adventures, enabling growth and development through experiential learning from one year to the next.

Students begin by shaping and developing foundation capabilities and understandings early in their sequence with each annual experience acting as a building block. Each year following, students re-visit these capabilities and explore new ones, building their confidence and ability to apply learnings beyond the context of the activity.

Sequences ensure the student experience is connected and consistent and the level of challenge is appropriate for their particular stage of development, providing opportunities for each learner to explore their identity and develop social and emotional skills, equipping them for their journey through to adult life.
